Geology Students Learn Eco-Friendly Methods at ESSROCs Frederick Plant

FREDERICK, MD -- A classroom in a cement plant? If you're a student studying geology or environmental science at Frederick Community College the nearby ESSROC plant and quarry has proven to be a classroom that "really rocks". Bad puns aside, local college educators and students have been learning more about eco-friendly mineral processing and related subjects first-hand at the local plant. "We've been doing this now for three summers," says Mike Fox, Plant Administrator of ESSROC in Frederick. "We do a full plant tour and share some of the production methods that emphasize our environmentally-friendly objectives. The students and their teachers really enjoy it."
