Helping Youth Hockey Proves Worthy Goal for ESSROC Throughout Ottawa Region
OTTAWA, ON -- Like other good corporate citizens here in Canada's capitol city region, ESSROC's Ottawa-based operations support the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the annual Snowsuit Fund and other worthy causes. But when it comes to really keeping the "fun" in fundraising, this ESSROC group also enthusiastically supports the national past time: hockey.
Minor league hockey, to be exact. And according to the manager of ESSROC's five regional operations and the district office, the love of the game is just part of the reason for helping out. "There are hundreds of youngsters participating in minor league organizations throughout the neighboring communities where ESSROC has operations. They're being taught the values of teamwork and self-discipline, as well as how to play the game. Whether these young players go on to the next level of competition or not, they will have these important values all their lives."
"The teams are sanctioned by the Canadian Hockey Association and operate with strict rules. But they are also social cogs of the local communities. Many local families have been involved with these teams from generation to generation. We're proud to do what we can to help them with both in-kind contributions and financial support." |
