Zero Accident Program
Essroc's Zero Accident Program is an essential component of an international initiative by the Italcementi Group to strengthen safety management and safety performance at all of our facilities worldwide.
The activities of the Zero Accident Program are evident throughout the entire ESSROC network of plants and operations in North America. At the leading edge of this effort to create a company wide safety-conscious culture are the ESSROC individuals who serve as members of our Zero Accident Training Teams. These drivers of the Zero Accident Project were selected in June, 2002, based upon their demonstrated leadership abilities, reputation in the workforce, talent for teaching in a group setting, and interest in supporting safety management change. They were hand-picked for these unique skill sets from the management, supervisory and hourly ranks of our company.
Empowered with a training program developed in cooperation with DuPont Safety Resources and the Italcementi Technical Training group, these ESSROC educators have been delivering a progressive series of Zero Accident seminars for executives, managers, supervisors, plant safety leaders and front line employees throughout the company. Through sessions in both the classroom and the workplace, participants in these multi-day seminars become familiar with a set of skills and tools for safety observation and communication, incident investigation and safety action meetings.
The objective of ESSROC'S Zero Accident Project is exactly as named: to create a company environment that is completely free of accidents and injuries on an ongoing basis. Through diligent application of the skills and tools of the program, we are realizing continuous safety improvements and meeting the challenge of zero accidents. |
